Partnerships

This service helps build partnerships and collaborative projects in order to realize business innovations. It is based on:

  • A methodology internationally recognized as “best practice” (smE-MPOWER);
  • A portfolio of tools made freely available to firms;
  • A network of partners in Switzerland and abroad to mount consortia projects;
  • Access to innovation programs for co-financing projects;
  • A team of accredited coaches who assure that firms realize the maximum benefit from collaborative projects.

The “open innovation” philosophy is in the process of replacing the old paradigm of “closed innovation.” More and more often, it is start-ups, micro- and small firms who are the driving force behind innovation. But they need allies to succeed, for example:

  • Pilot customers;
  • Technology suppliers;
  • Research centers;
  • Public funding programs.

The partnerships service helps firms transform this complex task into a lasting benefit. It makes available accredited coaches and a network of specialists in areas like intellectual property, contracts, finance and technological expertise.

Le sac et l’emballage. Voici les produits phares de la société BioApply, fondée en 2006 à Genève. Mais pas n’importe quel sac. Celui que propose BioApply est 100% écologique. «Un sac n’est pas seulement un objet utilitaire, c’est aussi un vecteur de communication, explique Frédéric Mauch, le fondateur de BioApply. A nos débuts, il y a trois ans, ce n’était pas facile, je dirais même que c’était de la science-fiction, car les produits bio étaient trois fois plus chers. Il nous a donc fallu développer une valeur ajoutée au produit. En faire un outil de sensibilisation, de marketing durable. Prouver que ce n’est pas un banal sac en plastique mais un vecteur de communication !» Un des moyens qu’a trouvé BioApply, c’est de permettre au client de créer son sac online. «Il suffit de choisir un type de sac, de mettre votre logo ou une image et votre sac personnalisé est prêt. Nous sommes les seuls à proposer ce service.»

ELFIX Production SA : A watchband clasp made in French-speaking Switzerland

At its inception in 1999, Elfix Production SA of La Chaux-de-Fonds operated as a subcontractor for brand-name watchmakers, manufacturing watchbands. Within a few years, the company expanded more and more in its field and now employs thirty people.

Gilles Garino, fondateur d’Elfix, se souvient: «J’ai créé ma propre entreprise de fournitures horlogères en 1999. Professionnellement, j’avais atteint mes limites dans le groupe où je travaillais comme technicien et j’ai donc décidé de me lancer et de créer une entité indépendante. Grâce au savoir-faire technique acquis dans mes expériences précédentes et à ma connaissance du marché, j’ai vite enregistré des commandes car je savais où aller trouver des clients.

Un démarrage en force
Jean-Luc Tinguely et Olivier Glasson se sont lancés dans l’informatique industrielle il y a 20 ans. Précurseurs dans ce domaine d’activité, ils ont créé Infoteam à l’époque où la contribution de l’informatique à l’industrie représentait plutôt un pari audacieux et avant-gardiste. L’acquisition d’un mandat pour la maison Polytype, projet mené sur une année, a assuré un bon démarrage à l’entreprise localisée à Villars-sur-Glâne. L’anticipation a toujours fait partie de l’esprit de l’entreprise et de ses 40 collaborateurs. «Qui aurait cru en 1990 que la plupart des machines allaient être pilotées par des ordinateurs», se souvient Jean-Luc Tinguely.
